The entire route follows asphalted roads from the point of departure at the railway station of Ruvo di Puglia, until it reaches the Tratturello Regio. The plateau-like landscape changes rapidly from an urban context to one of cereal-based agriculture. Further on one encounters olive and almond tree plantations. The roads and fields are well-defined by dry stone walls. A more unusual natural sight is the oak grove near to Vacchericcia and also the coppiced woods of Masseria de Leo which are to be found in the vicinity of “Masseria La Patanella”. The route ends inside the oak grove between the woods of Fenicia and the woods of Ruvo, both of which are crossed by the TR N.19 Canosa-Ruvo. The route passes through area outside the confines of the Alta Murgia National Park, but plays an important role in connecting the urban area to the protected are of the park.
